THE STORYTELLER'S BIBLE
Act VIII- General Epistles and Revelation
Script by Bob Allen
For four voices

Scene 6

1          2          3          4

ALL: Revelation!

VOICE TWO: The apocalypse!

VOICE THREE: The end times!

VOICE FOUR: Great tribulation!

VOICE ONE: The rise and fall of the Anti-Christ!

VOICE TWO: Blood and fire, mingled with smoke.

VOICE THREE: Universal upheaval.

VOICE FOUR: Cosmic warfare!

ALL: But what comes before—Left Behind?

VOICE ONE: (CROSS CENTER) John, to the seven churches that are in Asia.

VOICE TWO: Seven churches.

VOICE THREE: (CROSS CENTER) Who all needed the same things.

VOICE FOUR: (CROSS CENTER) They needed a message from the Son of God.

                                                              1 2 3 4

(THE NEXT FOUR LINES ARE SPOKEN SIMULTANEOUSLY.)

VOICE ONE: “To the angel of the church in Ephesus, write.”

VOICE TWO: “To the angel of the church in Smyrna, write.”

VOICE THREE: “To the angel of the church in Pergamus, write.”

VOICE FOUR: “To the angel of the church in Thyatira, write.”

(THE NEXT THREE LINES ARE SPOKEN SIMULTANEOUSLY.)

VOICE ONE: “To the angel of the church in Sardis, write.”

VOICE TWO: “To the angel of the church in Philadelphia, write.”

VOICE THREE: “To the angel of the church in Laodicea, write.”

VOICE FOUR: Write to the church a message from the Son of God--He said it seven times.

VOICE TWO: They needed an honest evaluation of their own spiritual condition.

VOICE THREE: “I know your deeds.” “I know your tribulation.” He said it seven times.

VOICE FOUR: They needed a compelling conviction that Jesus Christ would soon return.

VOICE ONE: “I am coming quickly.” “Hold fast till I come.” He said it seven times.

VOICE TWO: They needed an open ear to the Spirit’s pleading.

VOICE THREE: “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.” He said it seven times.

VOICE FOUR: They needed a strong determination to persevere to the end.

VOICE ONE: “To him who overcometh.” He said it seven times.

VOICE TWO: Seven letters, for seven churches.

VOICE THREE: Cognizant of the future.

VOICE FOUR: Living in the present.

VOICE ONE: The church wants to know what will happen to those who are left behind.

VOICE TWO: Christ wants the church to know what comes before—left behind!

VOICE THREE: Does my church recognize who Christ is and accept His message?

VOICE FOUR: Do we see Him as the One who walks in our midst and holds us in His right hand?

VOICE ONE: Do we see Him as the One who is the first and the last—the One who was before all things and whose kingdom will never end?

VOICE TWO: Do we see Him as the One out of whose mouth comes a sharp, double-edged sword? As the One who will use His Word to judge the thoughts and attitudes of the church?

VOICE THREE: Do we see Him with eyes like blazing fire and feet like glowing brass? One who is not playing games when He calls us to purity and holiness, and warns that judgment must begin at the house of God.

VOICE FOUR: Do we see Him holding the seven spirits of God, as One with the other persons of the Trinity? This is God who walks in our midst with the spirit of wisdom, understanding, counsel, power, knowledge and the fear of the Lord. We are not devoid of power because the Spirit of God given by Christ is our strength.

VOICE ONE: Do we see Him as the One who opens and no one will shut, who shuts and no one will open? Do we see all our plans and programs as worthless unless He is in them, and as successful to the degree which He makes them a success?

VOICE TWO: Do we see Him as the “Amen, the faithful and true witness, the ruler of God’s creation?” He alone can be trusted to tell us the truth about God, because He alone possesses a trustworthy and perfect knowledge of the Person and Work of Almighty God.

VOICE THREE: Our task as a church, before “Left Behind,” is to give to the world a witness concerning God. Our greatest need, therefore, is a message from God that we can trust—and we have that in the Person of “one like a son of man,” the “living One” who alone can say “I was dead and behold I am alive forevermore, and I have the keys of death and of Hades.”

VOICE FOUR: The revelation—

ALL: (ALL RAISE ONE HAND TOWARD HEAVEN) Of Jesus Christ!
