ALL: Peter!
VOICE FOUR: Why should we listen to him?
VOICE ONE: He walked on the water—
VOICE TWO: And sunk in the waves.
VOICE THREE: Christ commended him for spiritual insight—
VOICE FOUR: And almost immediately called him Satan.
VOICE ONE: He swore to be faithful to death—
VOICE TWO: And the same night betrayed Him three times.
VOICE THREE: Unstable!
VOICE FOUR: Unpredictable!
VOICE ONE: Transformed!
ALL: Peter!
VOICE TWO: Christ said, “I go to prepare a place for you.”
VOICE THREE: Peter wrote about obtaining “an inheritance which is imperishable and undefiled and will not fade away, reserved in heaven for you.”
VOICE FOUR: Christ said, “Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.”
VOICE ONE: Peter said, “But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.”
VOICE TWO: Christ told Peter to put up his sword into the sheath.
VOICE THREE: Peter responded by writing, “Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example for you to follow in His steps.”
VOICE FOUR: Christ singled Peter out from the other disciples with the command to “feed my sheep.”
VOICE ONE: Peter taught others to “feed the flock of God which is among you.”
VOICE TWO: Jesus called him Peter, the rock.
VOICE THREE: The stable one.
VOICE FOUR: Transformed by the power of Jesus Christ, the Son of God.
VOICE ONE: Stamped with His image.
VOICE TWO: An image of divine power.
VOICE THREE: His power grants us “everything pertaining to life and godliness.”
VOICE FOUR: Power seen in the authentication of Peter’s ministry through the healing of the lame man and the raising of Dorcas from the dead.
VOICE ONE: An image of divine glory.
VOICE TWO: His glory makes us “partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.”
VOICE THREE: Glory seen in the transformation of Peter’s character from sinner to saint.
VOICE FOUR: His glory develops all the moral graces, choreographing them together to contribute lavishly to the increase of each believer’s own personal faith.
VOICE ONE: Virtue—a courageous determination to do what is right.
VOICE TWO: Knowledge—the ability to make godly choices.
